Basketball Season is Under Way.

Basketball season is in full swing here at T.W. Hunter Middle.  Both teams are off to good starts. The boys disposed of all three Hendersonville rivals. They took care of Ellis and Hawkins on the road, while winning the home opener against Knox Doss. The girls bounced back from a loss in their opener to Ellis to win their next two against Hawkins and Knox Doss. Both teams are back in action tonight at White House Middle.

Things got kicked off with a pep rally before our home opener during which both the boys and the girls teams were introduced.

We've Been Busy

We celebrated the season with a fall festival back on October 31st. There were costume contests, games involving the teachers and students including a dodge ball tournament that the teachers and staff won, but the teachers flash mob stole the show. The festival was followed that Friday by some basketball. It was the staff vs the students with the proceeds benefiting the United Way. Students were chosen from each grade to represent their classmates. The students fought hard, but the staff prevailed in all three contests. Fun was had by all, and over one thousand dollars was raised for the United Way. The busyness continues this week on Thursday as over $85,000 worth of cookie dough will arrive to be sorted and distributed. Also on Thursday basketball season begins. Both the Lady Bucs and Bucs will open their season in The Round at Ellis Middle School.Good luck to our students.

Classrooms:
1. Mrs. White
2. Mr. Hale
3. Mrs. Meeks
4. Mr. Usery
5. Ms. Holdren

Wednesday we had a kick-off pep rally
Mr Duncan getting the students fired up about making some "dough" for the school.

Mr. White reveals one of the Ipad 2s the students have chance of winning.

Mrs Fite reveals the Ipad 2 the seventh graders can win.

Mrs Perkins and the students eagerly await the start of the pep rally.

Our next turn in is Tuesday, September 20th.  Students must turn in order forms and money in order to get credit for the sale. Thanks to everyone for making our first turn in day a huge success! Keep selling that cookie dough!

Cookie Dough

The Great Cookie Dough Kick-Off is here. Thanks to you, last year saw us raise $70,397 on our way to becoming The Entertainment Company's top - selling middle school in the nation. That meant that we had over $35, 000 to spend on technological improvements and supplimental materials for our students. This year we have set a ambitious goal of $75,000. We can attain this level if we average only eight sales per student! If we meet our goal, TWH will work to create $37,500  which will directly impact our students. Thank you in advance for all of your help and support.
